Timeline |
Components of the museum have been around for a long time. Its evolution from a childhood museum is told in the historical essay The story of how the museum came to be. Early versions were presented to the public in San Francisco Open Studios from 1989 to 1993.

2011
- April - Obscura Day 2011
- May - Open studios
- October - Book Arts Jam at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. and publication of Creating Your Own Personal Museum and The Tale of the Wandering Monk
2010
- February - Publication of Views of the Zymoglyphic Region
- March - The museum participated in the first Obscura Day
- May - Open Studios
- Sept. - Publication of Sketches of the Zymoglyphic Region and the second edition of the guide to the museum
- October - A mini-roadshow from the museum travels to the Book Arts Jam at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California

- Sept-Dec - Xenophora collection featured in the Peninsula Art Museum's "Obsessions" show on collections and collectors

- Crustacean diorama exhibited as part of the Curiosity Cabinet of the Collective Unconscious, Hive Gallery, Los Angeles. The cabinet was part of the Funhouse at Burning Man in September of 2005.

- November - debut of the Curator's Web Log .
